What's New in 4.4

• Stage Manager. Edit your documents using multiple resizable overlapping windows. (iOS 16+)

• Editor-style navigation bar. Adopts the new-in-iOS 16 "editor" navigation bar style giving you better access to editing features. (iOS 16+)

• Fixed an issue that could cause typewriter mode to stop working after an autoscroll.

What's New in 4.3.2

• The text editor now supports setting right-to-left writing direction.
• The screenwriting shortcut icons now update to reflect the currect style.
• Arrow keys can now be used to select screenwriting completions on iOS 15.
• Screenwriting completions now did the uncompleted portion of the selection.

What's New in 4.3.1

• The sidebar now ensures the current chapter/section is selected when sliding open.
• The style inspector no longer incorrectly reports that a style is overridden if you edit a style to use a Display P3 color instead of an sRGB.
• You can now use the arrow keys on a physical keyboard to select autocomplete candidates in Fountain and Final Draft files on iOS 15.
• Outlines in Fountain and Final Draft files are now displayed correctly when the sidebar is first shown.

What's New in 4.3

• Storyist 4.3 supports the new keyboard shortcut system in iOS 15. Shortcuts are organized according to the familiar (on macOS) File/Edit/View menus.
• New shortcuts let you tab between the sidebar and the editor, and cursor between elements in lists. (iOS 15)
• The comment support has been significantly updated. It's now easier to create and review comments with and without the comment sidebar visible.
• On iPhone, Storyist supports the new half-height popovers, so you see the underlying text.
• The new UI now limits how small the pinch-to-zoom gesture can make the text in draft mode.
• Storyist 4.3 addresses an issue that could cause Storyist to fail to save changes if you modified the file extension on a Mac to be mixed case (e.g. ".story" -> ".Story") and synced it to your iOS device.
• Storyist 4.3 no longer crashes in a rare case that could occur when entering a newline after a string of undo commands.
• PDF export no longer offers the option to choose a title page from the project if the file does not belong to a project.

• Fonts installed by apps like Adobe Creative Cloud are now available in the font picker for use in documents. (iOS 13)
• Storyist no longer scrolls the cursor under the navigation bar when typing in an empty file when typewriter mode is enabled.
• Scrollers are now placed correctly in page mode on iPhone.
• Storyist no longer crashes in certain circumstances when font or paragraph groups are collapsed in the shortcuts bar.

• Fixed a bug that caused duplicate styles to be created when pasting general text into a screenplay.

• Fixed background of pagination settings in dark mode on iOS 13.

Storyist 4.1.1 addresses some additional iOS 13 compatibility isues.

• Storyist no longer crashes on iOS 13 when it is deactivated (moved to the background) while a More menu popover is displayed.
• Storyist no longer crashes on iOS 13 in certain circumstances on iOS 13 when reopening a document that was displaying a document in multiple views.
• Storyist no longer crashes on iOS 13 in certain circumstances when adding or deleting properties from story sheets.
• Fixed a bug, introduced in 4.1, that could prevent the upgrade discount price from being offered on iOS 13.
• Fixed an issue that could prevent files from being deleted on iOS 13 using the context menu in the folder view. (Deleting by other means was not affected).

What's New in 4.1

Storyist 4.1 includes support for new features in iPadOS and iOS 13, including:

Storyist 4.1 also includes several bug fixes and usability enhancements.

• Storyist offers keyboard shortcuts for navigation, zoom, find, and editing.
• The outline view now properly displays non-sequential heading levels. Previously, if the outline level had gaps in outline levels (for example, a heading 1 followed by a heading 3) or started with a heading level other than 1, the indentation of the heading in the outline view could be incorrect.

Storyist 4.1 requires iOS 12 or later.

What's New in 4.0.2

• Storyist no longer prompts you to restore your purchase after upgrading. Previously, some users were seeing the in-app purchase window the first time the app was run after an upgrade.
• Storyist no longer quits unexpectedly on iPhone in certain circumstances when reverting to a previous version.

What's New in 4.0.1

• You can now import plain text files that have an extension other than .txt.
• Storyist no longer quits unexpectedly when editing a stand-alone markdown file.
• Storyist no longer discards unsaved changes when quitting the app. Previously, if you swiped up on the app in the app carousel right after switching away from the app, it was possible that the changes would not be saved.
