What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you purchase our software, subscribe to our newsletter or open a support ticket.

• When you purchase Storyist for macOS from Paddle (by following the Store link at the top of our web pages), Paddle may ask you to enter your name, e-mail address, billing address, phone number and credit card information. Paddle shares your e-mail address and license code with us when you complete checkout, but does not share your phone number or credit card information. • When you purchase Storyist for macOS or Storyist for iOS from Apple (by following links to the Mac App Store or the App Store), Apple may ask you to enter your Apple ID or other personal information. Apple does not share this information with us.

• When you subscribe to our newsletter, we will ask you to enter your name and email address.

• When you open a support ticket by sending an email to support@storyist.com, the ticket system (FogBugz) will save your email along with any replies.

We also use cookies and web beacons to gather statistics on visits to our website and other general visitor information. Please refer to the section titled “Do we use cookies?” for information about cookies and how we use them.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect in the following ways:

• To process transactions. The information you provide when you purchase Storyist for macOS from Paddle is used by Paddle to authorize your purchase with your credit card company. Unless you specify otherwise, the email address you provide for order processing will only be used to send you a confirmation and to answer questions about your order.
• To send you email. If you opt in to our mailing list, you will receive emails that may include company news, updates, or related product or service information. If at any time you would like to stop receiving these emails (opt-out), please follow the detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or contact support.
• To improve customer service. Your support tickets help us to respond to your support needs more effectively.
• To improve our website. We continually strive to improve our website based on the information and feedback we receive from you.

How do we protect your information?

We do not store your personal information on our site.

• The information you provide when purchasing Storyist for macOS from Paddle is stored and protected using industry-standard methods as described in the Paddle Privacy Policy.
• The information you provide when subscribing to our newsletter is stored and protected using industry-standard methods as described in the Campaign Monitor security document.
• The information you provide when opening a support ticket is stored and protected using industry-standard methods as described in the FogBugz Privacy Policy.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or service provider transfers to your hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and remember specific information.

We use Plausible Analytics to count visits to our website. Plausible collects aggregate data only (pages viewed, referring sites, country, browser, and device type), does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not track you across other websites. We use Paddle to process orders for Storyist for macOS. Paddle uses cookies to help remember and process the items in your shopping cart.

If you prefer, you can have your computer warn you each time a cookie is sent, or you can turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly. However, you can still place orders by contacting customer service.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties.
